BEFORE
The Sales and Marketing groups of a small food and beverage company in Northern
California were struggling within and between their organizations. Both
leaders decided that because of their integral business alliances, they
needed to become clear on their purpose and direction. |

UPON
ENTRY…
The head of Human Resources determined that a designed strategic visioning
process could yield powerful results for the two groups and the organization
overall. |

“I
have had the pleasure of working with Dana in two different
organizations. I brought Dana in to work with us to create
a cohesive business vision and a set of strategies and plans
for two critical functions in our business. Because it is
important to have these functions aligned and in lockstep
with each other, we worked with each function separately
and then brought them together to get the work done. Dana
and I collaborated to design a process that allowed maximum
participation and involvement of the participants. Not only
did we get a lot of hard work done over a short period of
time, but we had a great time doing it! Dana helped to make
the meetings not only productive but fun. I would have no
hesitation in recommending her. She was professional, creative
and easy to work with.”

WHAT
WE DID…
Our engagement began with a designed partnership with the internal HR client,
because this partnership would be vital in making the work that we did ‘stick.’ She
could provide valuable information about work done between meetings and help
design each subsequent session. The groups worked separately, with the manager
of both groups attending both sessions. The groups determined where their strengths
and opportunities lay, as well as where they were vulnerable. They looked at
the history of each organization, each deciding to share this output with the
other group. Finally, each group put together a vision for their desired future
and aligned action steps to move forward. |

|
|
OUTCOME…
Both of these groups were much more effective at the conclusion
of these sessions. They had a better understanding of the
challenges the other group faced, as well as an idea of
how they could be helpful. The actions helped both groups
move forward, both as individual units and as a collaborative
team for the organization. |
