BEFORE
A small start-up in Southern California faced a formidable challenge:
how to connect farmers, often in remote areas and not technologically
savvy, with sellers, who could move their produce into places
previously unavailable. At the time, business to business ecommerce
was just getting started. And how to convince banks and investors
that this was a worthwhile. |

"I’ve
had the pleasure of working with Dana on several projects,
all with resounding success! On the BuyProduce project Dana
was instrumental in facilitating work sessions that clearly
defined the business strategy and operational processes going
forward. Moreover, her work was a key component of the investor
targeted business plan that successfully generated $20 million
in funding! Thanks Dana."

UPON
ENTRY…
The CEO had determined that because the industry was relatively
new, he needed to find a way to stand out from the competition
in an environment of competition for funds. He had seen our
work in his position as CEO of Cobra Golf, so he knew what
our capabilities were. |

WHAT
WE DID…
We met with the CEO and his senior team to facilitate a work
session where we could gather data about the industry: what as
the history of the produce industry? Who were the major competitors?
What were the primary barriers to entry? What was the plan moving
forward? What were the critical actions that needed to take place?
Working with an expert in business plan writing,
we teamed up and put together a plan that was both traditional
and linear, as well as graphical. Together the information was
summarized and put together in an investor booklet. |

|
OUTCOME…
The investors were blown away by the information provided to
them about the industry, the competition and the opportunity.
The format of the business plan itself was so unique and
easy to follow that the investors were easily swayed to
put their funds toward a forward-thinking venture. |
